Jackson Township does not require a timber permit, however for a timber project, an Overweight Hauling Permit is required.
An Overweight Hauling Permit may also be required for any vehicle that weighs over ten tons. Read more here.
Additionally, the Township will need an Erosion and Sediment Control (E&S) Plan and the project needs to be in compliance with the Butler Conservation District and all state laws.
The Township may also require a driveway permit which would include a $75 fee. The driveway would need to marked where the opening is going to be with flags or paint for Jackson Township's Public Works Director to review.
The Township requires an Overweight Hauling Application that would need to be completed along with the following separate fees:
- Application fee ($200/road)
- Escrow deposit ($600/road)
Checks can be made payable to Jackson Township.
Once the Township receives the applications and checks, we would then process an Excess Maintenance Agreement. Prior to the Township giving out the permit, an original bond (with raised seal and signatures) based on the amount listed in the Excess Maintenance Agreement is also required.
Finally, the Public Works Director or the Township's engineers will videotape the road prior to the project starting.
