Jackson Community Foundation (JCF)

The Jackson Community Foundation (JCF) is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life of Jackson Township residents by maximizing and coordinating resources for community development, public services, public facilities, and infrastructure. Our goals are to foster collaboration, promote recreation, build a sense of community, and enhance Jackson Township.

The JCF, originally named the Jackson Township Community Development Corporation, was formed in 2012 out of a need to facilitate residential development and infrastructure improvements that could not be met by public and for-profit entities alone. Since its inception, the organization has facilitated various residential developments in Jackson Township and acted as a Neighborhood Improvement District Management Association (NIDMA) for several infrastructure improvement projects.

In 2024, the Board of Directors recognized that the need for assistance with residential development had slowed and sought to realign the organization’s purpose with the current needs of the community. The board voted to rename the organization and develop a new strategic plan that would position the organization to be best prepared to support the efforts of Jackson Township’s new Comprehensive Plan and its new Parks, Open Space, and Recreation Plan.

Dog Park

Recently, area residents began raising funds to create a local dog park. Estimated costs range upwards of $40,000 with in-kind contributions by the Township Public Works Department helping to reduce costs. Approximately 10% of needed funding has been raised by a committed group of volunteers who have teamed up with the JCF to develop the project. The JCF is seeking donations, sponsorships, and memorials to support the development of the dog park.
